CHIEF KENNETH OKAFOR (KSJI) AND OTHERS SWORN IN AS COMMISSIONERS
Late President Nelson Mandela once said “It always seem impossible until it’s done”. This maxim by late Mandela Characterised the life and times of Chief Kenneth Okafor (Nwachinaemere Omuma) who through patience, endurance and perseverance has gradually progressed politically.
Chief Kenneth Okafor served as a former Special Adviser (SA) to the Governor on Transport/Motor Parks but Friday, January 31, 2025 remain an indelible, memorable and remarkable day in his life as a day he rose to the rank of a commissioner which is another milestone in his political career.
In a brief chat with newsmen before the swearing-in ceremony, he made it point blank that his primary objective is to key into the 3R Mantra of Governor Hope Uzodimma.led administration to make Imo State better.
He pointed out that Governor Hope Uzodimma has excelled triumphantly in terms of Human capital and infrastructural development therefore he cannot afford to fail or derail in the discharge of his duties to make Imo state beautiful, comfortable and noble which is the focal point of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration.
It is a well known fact that nothing good in life comes easy but it should also be known that if it must come, it has to come as a reward for sacrifices made like diligence, discipline, Hard work, Loyalty, Humility, commitment and dedication.
Chief Kenneth Okafor has demonstrated the above sterling qualities hence His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo state Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma find him worthy to be elevated as a commissioner.
Governor Hope Uzodimma in his remarks during the swearing-in ceremony told the Commissioners that their appointment is in line with his administration’s commitment to effective governance hence he had the honor of swearing them in so they can contribute their quota significantly to the success of his administration.
He also expressed that their appointment is not by accident but a reflection of their competence and dedication to public service and therefore urged them to be worthy ambassadors of his administration.
The new Commissioners are:
1. Chief Kenneth Okafor
2. Prof. Boniface G. Nworgu
3. Barr. Enyinna Onuegbu
4. Dr. Anthony Mgbeahuruike
5. Dr. Elias Emedom
They were carefully selected based on their expertise, competence and credible track record of excellence.
Governor Uzodimma also charged them to bring innovative ideas and pragmatic solutions to any ministry they may be assigned in order to drive the sustainable development required by his administration.
The Governor expressed his belief and confidence in their ability to align with his administration’s vision of making Imo state a model of progress by virtue of teamwork and efficiency.
