CHAIRMAN OWOLABI FLAGS OFF IMMUNISATION EXERCISE IN AKOKO NORTHWEST

The Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest Local Government Area, Ondo State, Hon. Abiodun John Owolabi, officially flagged off a comprehensive immunisation campaign for children on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

The initiative targets children aged 0 to 59 months and will be conducted across all ten wards of the local government over a period of three consecutive days.

Present at the flag-off ceremony were representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Local Immunisation Officer (LIO), and the State Task Force (STF). They urged parents and guardians to ensure their children receive the vaccines, emphasizing that immunisation is a vital step in safeguarding children against preventable diseases and promoting their overall physical and mental development.

“Bring all your children aged 0 to 59 months to the nearest health facility or vaccination post for immunisation. Protect your family from deadly diseases,” the officials advised.

Health workers at the event expressed their appreciation for the Executive Chairman’s presence and commitment, describing him as a visionary leader, a passionate child advocate, and a devoted father figure.

In his remarks, Hon. Abiodun John Owolabi commended the dedication and resilience of healthcare workers and reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support for health-related initiatives in the local government area. He also wished them a smooth and impactful immunisation exercise.

The flag-off event was held at Ogbagi Health Center, located along Ese Road in Ogbagi-Akoko.
