BTO AMBASSADOR GROUP REBIRTHS IN AKOKO NORTHWEST, ENDORSES TINUBU FOR 2027
Chairman Owolabi Calls for Unity and a Common Voice
The name BTO Ambassador Group has become a familiar force within the political landscape of Akoko Northwest/Northeast Federal Constituency since its formation in 2019. Established to support and promote the political vision and achievements of Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO), the group played a vital role during his successful two-term tenure as a member of the House of Representatives, before his appointment as the Honourable Minister of Interior by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023.
On Monday, June 9, the group was formally relaunched at the residence of BTO in Okeagbe Akoko, Ondo State, marking a renewed commitment to grassroots mobilization and national politics.
During the re-inauguration event, the group officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, citing the President’s various economic reforms as the basis for their support. They also pledged to work in synergy with the Honourable Minister of Interior to further champion the President’s 2027 ambition.
In his address, the Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest Local Government, Hon. Esan John Owolabi—also a founding member of the BTO Ambassador Group—commended members for their dedication and loyalty. He emphasized that the reelection of President Tinubu in 2027 is non-negotiable, urging the group to replicate their outstanding performance from the 2024 gubernatorial election in support of the President’s second-term bid.
Hon. Owolabi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of residents in the council area, promising continued developmental strides.
Also speaking at the event, prominent political figure Otunba Callistus Afe stated that the group’s revival is solely to support President Tinubu’s 2027 ambition in Akoko Northwest. He highlighted BTO’s accomplishments in infrastructure and empowerment both as a legislator and a federal minister, calling on the people to spread awareness of Tinubu’s achievements. Otunba Afe added that the political track record of every officeholder in Ondo North will significantly influence their 2027 prospects.
APC Local Government Chairman, Hon. Kehinde Obanla, who revealed he was once a ward coordinator in the group before rising to his current role, assured attendees that the BTO Ambassador Group would work tirelessly to ensure Tinubu’s victory in 2027.
Hon. Fatai Atere, member of the Ondo State House of Assembly representing Akoko Northwest Constituency I, praised the APC leadership in the local government for their vision and stewardship. He acknowledged the role of BTO in his political rise, pledging unwavering support and loyalty. In his usual philanthropic manner, Hon. Atere empowered four individuals with financial support at the event and promised to continue giving back to his constituents.
Other notable leaders in attendance, including Prince Adetilewa, emphasized the importance of unity within the group and encouraged members to see themselves as one family. He also offered prayers for BTO’s continued success.
The highlight of the event was the inauguration of new executives across the ten wards of the local government area. These new leaders will oversee the operations and objectives of the group in their respective wards.
The rebirth of the BTO Ambassador Group drew a large and enthusiastic turnout from political supporters and admirers of BTO across the local government area, signaling strong grassroots momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
