APC reacts as El-Rufai dumps party for SDP

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State has made it clear that it is not worried about former Governor Nasiru El-Rufai’s decision to leave the party for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Reacting to the defection, the Kaduna APC Secretary, Alhaji Yahaya Baba-Pate, stated that the party remains focused on strengthening its presence in the state and ensuring victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 elections.

He assured supporters that the party’s goals remain unchanged despite El-Rufai’s departure.

According to Baba-Pate, APC will continue to attract influential politicians in Kaduna, which, in his view, proves that the party remains strong.

He dismissed concerns about any negative impact from El-Rufai’s exit, insisting that the party is growing and gaining more support.

He also praised Governor Uba Sani’s leadership, stating that his style of governance is drawing more people to the party.

Baba-Pate maintained that APC is focused on its plans for the future and is not concerned about individuals leaving.

“We are unperturbed by former Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s defection to another party. Our main focus in Kaduna is on how to deliver the state to both President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in 2027.

“The APC in Kaduna State is growing daily, judging from the calibre of politicians joining the party. We are not disturbed by anyone leaving, as our governor’s inclusive governance continues to attract more supporters.”

“We are not losing sleep over El-Rufai’s defection. The party in the state is stronger than ever before,” he concluded.
