The Committee of Amotekun Commanders in the South West led by their Chairman, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye paid a condolence visit to the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa today at the Governor’s office.

The Commanders from Osun, Ekiti, Oyo, Ogun and Ondo states eulogized Arakunrin Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON, for his vision in ensuring that Amotekun Initiative came to limelight when the entire South West was ravaged by marauders. They praised Aketi for his tenacity in the protection of lives and properties.

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa extolled his late boss as a man who left enduring legacies of which Amotekun Corps remains a testament of his doggedness and resilience.

“He was a man of great courage. He spoke and everyone listened. His exit has created a vacuum that has to be filled. We celebrate him for his vision and all he stood for. Aketi impacted a lot of lives” Aiyedatiwa said.

In a related development, the Olubaka of Oka Akoko led his chiefs to commiserate with the government and people of Ondo state on the unfortunate demise of Arakunrin Odunayo Akeredolu. The revered traditional ruler prayed for the repose of the soul of the former governor while vowing to support the government of Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

Aiyedatiwa commended the Olubuka of Oka, Alhaji Yusuf Adebori Adeleye for his thoughtfulness while demanding the cooperation of the people of Oka Akoko in supporting his administration like they did to his late boss. However, the governor pledged his readiness to partner with the traditional institution in order to enhance security of lives and properties in the state.

In his words, “Kabiyesi, I thank you for coming here physically to commiserate with us. You are the first king to have visited from the Northern Senatorial District and the second in the state after Olugbo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Fredrick Akinruntan. We are comforted by your visit. We thank you for your thoughtfulness”

The Governor used the occasion to praise his late boss who he referred to as a voice to the voiceless and a man of many parts. He said Aketi would be celebrated in death because his passing was that of a Saint who lived a fulfilled life.

Joining the meeting with the governor to receive the visitors were the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Sir Charles Titiloye, Special Assistant on Political Matters, Hon. Smart Omodunbi and other top government functionaries.
