AKOKO NORTHWEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICERS HONOUR AND OFFICIATE UPGRADING 
CEREMONY OF ELEEGUN TO MONARCH
In a historic event, the Akoko Northwest Local Government Area of Ondo State today in a remarkable gesture witnessed the upgrading of the Highchief Eleegun stool to Monarch. His Royal Highness, Oba Raphael Olawale Ogundare, the Eleegun of Eegun community in Ogbagi Akoko, was honoured by the Governor of Ondo State.
The presentation of the staff of office and installation of Oba Ogundare took place on Friday, April 4th, 2025, in the presence of well-wishers from all walks of life. The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Hon.Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, was represented by Comrade Bola Taiwo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties.
Hon. Esan Owolabi, the Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest Local Government, congratulated the newly upgraded traditional ruler, the people, and the community. He prayed for peace and wished the Monarch a long and peaceful reign. “My prayer for the new monarch is to live long and enjoy peaceful reign on the throne of his great forbearers,” Hon. Owolabi said.
The event was attended by all the Akoko Northwest Local Government administrative chiefs, who accompanied Hon. Owolabi to perform the administrative instructions as recommended by the state local government service commission and the office of the governor.
