Nigerians Are Unfair To Tinubu; I’ll Appreciate If He Gives Me Appointment —PDP Chieftain, Daniel Bwala

Bwala who served as the spokesman for the campaign of the opposition party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, during the 2023 general election said his recent visit to President Tinubu was not to solicit for appointment as speculated in the media.
Daniel Bwala, a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, has stated that he would welcome it if President Bola Tinubu appointed him to a post that would require him to work for the progress of his government.

Bwala who served as the spokesman for the campaign of the opposition party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, during the 2023 general election said his recent visit to President Tinubu was not to solicit for appointment as speculated in the media.

SaharaReporters had reported how Bwala visited Tinubu last Wednesday and said he was committed to playing his part to support his administration.

He added that if his support for Tinubu would lead to his defection from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), so be it.

I told him (President) today, I am committing to play my part to support your administration, and I have no apologies to anybody,” he said.

Explaining the reasons behind his visit to the President during a live programme on Channel TV which was monitored by SaharaReporters on Sunday night, Bwala said the President did not make any offer to him but rather explained some facts behind the policies he made so far in his government.

Bwala said, “Sometimes when we talk, our focus is on those whose minds are rational. You try to persuade them. For those whose minds are made up, there is nothing you can do about it. And when somebody said ‘belly-face’, then when I was with Atiku, what is the belly feeding?

“So you see. People are even unfair to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to be honest. What did he promise? He has never promised me anything. OK, let me tell you this, if the president makes an offer of a position then I see that will contribute to him the development of his agenda, because I will support his agenda, I will more than appreciate it.”

Bwala added that he would also continue to support Tinubu even if he does not offer him any appointment because he did the same for former President Muhammadu Buhari for eight years.

He continued: “But it is not the appointment that I am looking for to support him. That’s why I’m telling you eight years I supported Buhari, I was not a public official, you see, you have to separate between those who do not have value and are cringing and crying for appointment and those who believe the value and what they will contribute has nothing to do with whether you are appointed or you’re not appointed.

“But I can understand when people rate you and then they see what you can bring to the table. Sometimes people do what we call preemptive action. They can preempt it. I see so many things in the media. But I want to say to everybody listening, the president has not promised me anything.”

Bwala also revealed that his principal, Atiku Abubakar, was aware of his visit to Tinubu.

“I was so shocked when I when I saw people flying information all over the places that I spring surprises on Atiku. I informed Atiku Abubakar I was going to see the president. After I had seen the president, I informed him that I had just seen the president. And he replied to me and said thanks Daniel for notifying me. So the world should know,” he added.
