JUST IN: Wike Votes In Rivers LG Polls (Video)
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday cast his vote in the ongoing local government elections in Rivers State.
A video circulating on social media showed the former governor of the state exercising his franchise at Polling Unit 007, Ward 9, in Rumuepirikom community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
PUNCH Online reports that security agencies have mounted a heavy presence across Rivers State as residents troop out to vote in the local government elections.
The exercise is taking place in all 23 local government areas of the state, across 319 wards and 6,866 polling units, six months after the Supreme Court nullified the October 2024 council polls conducted by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission.
