APC Leaders Join Engr. Adetimehin to Receive Thousands from PDP, LP, ADC Across Akoko North-West LG
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State on Sunday witnessed a massive boost as thousands of decampees from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) officially joined the ruling party in Oke Agbe-Akoko, headquarters of Akoko North-West Local Government Area.
The defection rally, which held at the Motor Park in Oke Agbe-Akoko, was attended by APC leaders, community stakeholders, youths, and women across the Akoko axis, further consolidating the party’s growing influence in Ondo State.
Among the prominent defectors were Hon. Alaba Arohunmolase, former PDP chairman; High Chief Odeja; High Chief Giwa; Hon. Bolaji; Chief Ojo Akinniyi; Prince Adeniyi Olanipekun; alongside all PDP ward chairmen in Akoko North-West.
Speaking on behalf of the decampees, leaders of the groups said their decision was inspired by the purposeful leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the grassroots mobilisation of the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. They commended the Minister’s developmental strides in Akoko land, especially Oke Agbe, noting that his achievements influenced their decision to pitch tent with the APC.
Receiving the new members, the APC State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, was joined by members of the State Executive Committee, the local government chairman, Hon. Kehinde Obanla (Ajapaara), and Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, who represented Dr. Tunji-Ojo.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo, through his representative, further assured that with President Tinubu’s people-focused governance, Nigeria is already on the path of economic rejuvenation, security reforms, and infrastructural renewal. He urged the decampees to remain steadfast and to spread the message of good governance as the APC prepares for a stronger outing in the 2027 elections.
