Get Me Land Where To Build New ‘Befitting’ APC Secretariate In Abuja– Tinubu Charges Wike

President Bola Tinubu has announced plans to construct a new national secretariat for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, marking a fresh chapter for the ruling party’s administrative operations.

Speaking at the 14th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the APC held at the State House Conference Centre on Thursday, Tinubu tasked the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike and Progressive governors to seek suitable land to erect a modern, befitting structure.

We’ll look for an appropriate land to build a befitting secretariat,” the president declared.

“We should put a committee together of progressive governors to find an appropriate land and build an insect area. I take that. I think we should do that,” he added.

While he did not disclose any financial figures or budget allocation for the project, the announcement suggests a significant upgrade to the party’s infrastructure.

Currently, the APC operates from the Muhammadu Buhari House, located at 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja. The property, purchased for ₦2.5 billion, was acquired under the party’s Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and officially renamed in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari in June 2021.

Although recent NEC meetings had been held at Buhari House, Thursday’s emergency session was moved to the Presidential Villa, where Tinubu made the new plan known.

The proposed secretariat is expected to serve as a symbol of the party’s evolution and consolidation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
