President Tinubu makes New appointment
Tinubu Appoints Ndagi Alhassan As Registrar, Nursing, Midwifery Council

 

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Alhaji Ndagi Alhassan as the substantive Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN

The appointment, effective May 19, 2025, is for a four-year term, as conveyed in a letter dated July 2, 2025, and signed by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate.

The appointment letter congratulated Alhassan and urged him to “consolidate and improve on the achievements so far made” to justify the confidence placed in him.

It further expressed the expectation that he would “work collaboratively with all the stakeholders to ensure that the council continues to reposition nursing practice and deliver quality services.”

Reacting to the news, Alhassan expressed his elation, calling it one of the happiest days of his life due to the trust and national assignment entrusted to him.

He conveyed his deep gratitude to Minister Pate for directing him to elevate the nursing profession during his tenure.

 

The new Registrar vowed to work diligently to achieve the mandate given to him, assuring that he would do everything humanly possible to succeed.

He praised Minister Pate as a “wonderful public servant” who meticulously considers his actions in discharging national and international assignments.

Pledging his total loyalty to Pate, Alhassan promised to work tirelessly to ensure the success of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly its focus on health and sustained efforts to reduce maternal mortality in the country.
