Local Government Chairman Reportedly Arrested
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed the arrest of Muibi Alade Folawiyo, Chairman of Lagos Island East LCDA, on charges of gross corruption.
According to ICPC spokesman Demola Bakare, Folawiyo is accused of embezzling large sums of public money, using funds for personal gain, and bypassing proper procedures.
Folawiyo was taken into custody at the Council Secretariat on Broad Street, Lagos, after ignoring several invitations he had acknowledged.
He has since been granted administrative bail and is expected to report back as investigations continue.
