Iran Bitterly Ban Elon Musk’s Starlink — Users Now Risk Jail Time, Fines & Public Flogging
The Iranian government has officially put the kibosh on Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet service, warning that anyone caught using it could face imprisonment, hefty fines, or even flogging.
This move comes as Starlink continues to provide uncensored internet access in places where governments clamp down on free speech — a significant threat to Iran’s tightly controlled information landscape.
Starlink was previously smuggled into Iran by activists during widespread protests, allowing people to connect with the outside world without filters.
But the regime isn’t having any of it. They’ve now made accessing it a cr!minal offense, labeling it a “national security threat.”
