EFCC arrests 74 alleged internet fraudsters in Abuja

Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, said it arrested 74 suspected Internet fraudsters in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

EFCC said its operatives made the arrest after a raid on Monday at Joyous Hotel in Nyanya, a suburb of the nation’s capital.

The commission spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, in a statement on Monday, revealed that items recovered during the operation include 86 mobile phones, a rifle pistol, and three motorcycles.

He added that the suspects would be arraigned in court soon but didn’t state the exact date.

“Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 74 suspected internet fraudsters”, the statement partly reads.

This comes weeks after the commission arrested 120 suspected internet fraudsters in Lagos.
