Taraba Assembly breaks silence on plans to Replace Ailing Deputy Governor
The Taraba State House of Assembly has debunked widespread claims that it is plotting to replace Deputy Governor Aminu Alkali, who is currently undergoing medical treatment in Abuja. Lawmakers described the rumours as false and aimed at causing unnecessary political tension in the state.
Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Hon. Nelson Len, clarified that no motion has been tabled nor any discussion held regarding the removal or incapacitation of the deputy governor. He emphasized that Alkali is still in office and recuperating steadily.
The Assembly called on the public to disregard what it termed as “fabricated lies” by mischief-makers and affirmed its commitment to transparency and constitutional governance. It also advised citizens to rely only on verified information from credible sources
