PDP federal lawmaker dumps party for APC

The members, Peter Akpanke from Cross River State and Paul Nnamchi from Enugu State, submitted letters announcing their exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party, respectively

Akpanke, who represents Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwara federal constituency, said his decision was driven by the unresolved internal crisis within the PDP.

He explained that the prolonged instability had made it difficult for him to remain in the party.

Nnamchi, representing Enugu East/Isi Uzo federal constituency, also cited internal leadership problems as the reason for leaving the Labour Party.

According to him, the crisis has continued to disrupt the party’s structure and activities.

Both lawmakers expressed appreciation to their former parties for the platforms that helped them into office.

Their defection letters were read during plenary by the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas.

Akpanke and Nnamchi have now joined the APC, the ruling party at the national level.
