Familiarization Visit to Dadin Kowa Irrigation Farm and Dam 16th June 2025
As part of my official duties as the Executive Director, Agricultural Services, Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority (UBRBDA), I conducted a familiarization visit to Dadin Kowa Irrigation Farm and Dam, Gombe State, on 16th June 2025
During the visit, I met with the Area Manager, Engr. Ahmed Bekaji alongside his dedicated team, and we conducted an extensive inspection of ongoing projects in the area. The tour provided valuable insights into the operational activities, challenges, and opportunities for enhancing agricultural productivity within the irrigation scheme.
Renewed Hope for Farmers
This visit reinforces the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s agricultural sector. The Dadin Kowa Dam remains a critical asset for irrigation farming, supporting thousands of farmers in
Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, and Bauchi States. By ensuring efficient water management and infrastructure development, we are committed to boosting food security and empowering local farmers.
A Commitment to Progress
My engagement with the Dadin Kowa team underscores UBRBDA’s dedication to sustainable agricultural development. We will continue to collaborate with stakeholders to improve irrigation facilities, enhance farmer support programs, and drive economic growth in the region.
