AKOKO NW EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN’S MOTHER, OTHERS RECEIVE OCTOGENARIAN AWARDS AT ODO-IRUN ANGLICAN CHURCH

The people of Odo-Irun in Irun Akoko joined the Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest Local Government Area of Ondo State, Hon. Esan Owolabi, in celebrating his octogenarian mother, Chief Mrs. Victoria Owolabi, as she received the “Igbeyinadun” Award on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

The award, conferred by St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Odo-Irun (under the Akoko Diocese of the Anglican Communion), was in recognition of Chief Mrs. Owolabi’s selfless service to humanity and unwavering commitment to the Christian faith.

During the special Trinity Sunday service, the officiating priest extolled the virtues of Chief Mrs. Owolabi and other awardees, describing them as pillars of the community who have devoted their lives to service and godly values.

He also used the occasion to commend Hon. Esan Owolabi (popularly known as BTO) for his exemplary leadership and dedication to the welfare of his people, praying for his continued success and impact.

In his words: “This Octogenarian Award is a symbol of our collective appreciation for the enduring legacy of these elders, whose lives have been marked by humility, service, and faith.”

The congregation offered special prayers for all award recipients, asking for God’s continued grace, strength, and peaceful transitions.

The celebration was marked by joy, gratitude, and a renewed call for intergenerational mentorship in the community.
