CHAIRMAN OWOLABI ACCOMPANIES GOV. AIYEDATIWA’S REPRESENTATIVE TO COMMISSION AMOTEKUN OFFICE IN IRUN AKOKO

As part of the unwavering commitment of the Ondo State Government under the leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to combat insecurity across the state, a new milestone was marked with the official commissioning of the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps) office in Irun Akoko on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025.

The Governor, represented at the event by the Commander of Amotekun in Ondo State, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, officially commissioned the Irun Amotekun office, declaring it open for immediate operation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Akogun Adeleye emphasized that security is the foundation of peace and progress in any society. He reiterated the commitment of the Aiyedatiwa-led administration to ensuring that all citizens can sleep with both eyes closed, confident in the protection provided by Amotekun Corps.

“If you notice any suspicious movement in your environment, report immediately to the Amotekun office,” he urged the residents. “They are here to protect you—they are your friends.”

In his address, the Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest Local Government, Hon. Esan Owolabi, expressed the community’s appreciation for the government’s continued dedication to fighting insecurity. He assured the governor’s representative of the full support and cooperation of the Irun people.

“The efforts of Governor Aiyedatiwa to combat insecurity in our state deserve commendation,” Owolabi said. “His unrelenting zeal and actions show true leadership and commitment to the safety of all residents.”

Several prominent indigenes of Irun also spoke at the occasion, commending the governor’s gesture and pledging their support and collaboration with the Amotekun Corps to help them achieve their mission in the community.

To formally close the event, Hon. Felix Afe delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of the community, extending appreciation to the governor’s representative and all attendees.

Dignitaries present at the commissioning included His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Agboola, the Onirun of Irun Akoko, and members of the Irun Council of Chiefs; the Asiwaju of Irun, Chief Paul Oguntimehin; Otunba Calistus Afe; religious leaders, and other esteemed well-wishers, making the event a memorable one for the community.
