CHAIRMAN OWOLABI GREENLIGHTS IRUN BRIDGE RECONSTRUCTION
In a decisive step toward fulfilling his campaign promises, the Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest Local Government, Hon. Esan Owolabi, has approved the reconstruction of the collapsed bridge at Ubalo along Oke-Irun Road in Irun Akoko.
The bridge, which had long been in disrepair, had rendered the road nearly impassable—causing traffic disruption and posing significant risks to motorists and pedestrians alike.
During an inspection of the ongoing reconstruction, Chairman Owolabi stressed the urgency of the project, describing the bridge’s former state as a major hazard to road users. He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to infrastructural development under the government’s Renewed Hope agenda.
“Our swift response to the community’s call is a testament to our commitment,” said Owolabi. “Every community in our local government will surely feel the impact of our administration.”
Accompanying the Chairman on the inspection was the Local Government Secretary, Hon. Musa Olusegun, who praised the initiative and described Chairman Owolabi as a “responsive and people-centered leader” devoted to transformation.
The Irun community, in turn, pledged full cooperation with the contractor to ensure the timely and successful completion of the project.
