NGO Applauds Minister Dele Alake for Transformative Contributions to National Development

Abuja, Nigeria — The De Dynamic Builders Progressive Initiative (DDBPI), a respected Abuja-based non-governmental organization, has extended heartfelt commendation to Hon. Henry Dele Alake, Nigeria’s Minister of Solid Minerals, for his exceptional commitment to the progress and sustainable development of the nation.

In a statement issued by the leadership of the organization — Mr. Eric Adile Iroajugh, Engineer Anthony Adeola, and Mr. Paul Mamman — the NGO praised Hon. Alake’s lifelong dedication to national transformation, describing his career as a model of patriotic service, visionary leadership, and reform-driven governance.

“Hon. Dele Alake’s journey from the trenches of democratic activism to his current position as a federal minister exemplifies what it means to serve with purpose, courage, and clarity of vision,” the DDBPI team stated.

Born on October 6, 1956, and hailing from Ekiti State, Hon. Alake’s illustrious career spans journalism, activism, and public administration. An alumnus of Christ’s School Ado Ekiti, Igbobi College Yaba, and the University of Lagos, he became a prominent voice during Nigeria’s military era, using his platform to advocate for democracy, human rights, and accountable leadership.

His notable service as the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy from 1999 to 2007, under the administration of Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu, marked a turning point in modern governance communication in Nigeria. During this period, he redefined public engagement, promoted civic participation, and helped to shape Lagos into a model of progressive governance.

Now serving as the Minister of Solid Minerals, Hon. Alake has taken on the challenge of transforming a long-neglected sector into a strategic pillar of Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda. Under his leadership, the ministry has introduced bold reforms aimed at unlocking the full potential of Nigeria’s vast mineral resources. These efforts have made the sector more attractive to foreign direct investment, increased transparency, and positioned it as a significant revenue generator for the government.

DDBPI particularly lauded his foresight in building a sustainable and enduring framework for the solid minerals industry — one that is not only geared toward short-term economic gains but also toward long-term national prosperity and job creation.

“With leaders like Hon. Dele Alake championing strategic reforms, Nigeria can confidently look to the future with hope,” the NGO affirmed. “His contributions from the era of democratic struggle to his role in information governance and now mineral sector reform are not just commendable — they are truly transformational.”

The De Dynamic Builders Progressive Initiative reiterated its commitment to supporting good governance and lauded Hon. Alake’s unwavering focus on results, describing him as “an architect of national progress and a symbol of responsible leadership in service to the people.”

As Nigeria continues to seek alternatives to oil-based revenue and embrace economic diversification, Hon. Dele Alake’s leadership in the solid minerals sector stands as a beacon of what is possible when passion, expertise, and patriotism align.
