NAF injects 90 new medical personnel into force
No fewer than 90 medical technicians have been injected into the health workers pool of the Nigerian Air Force.
The medical personnel joined the force after graduating from the School of Medical Sciences and Aviation Medicine, Kaduna.
The new medical technicians, who will be deployed for ‘national assignments’, according to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, are not only expected to enhance the welfare of NAF personnel but also extend quality medical services to the wider public.
Daily Trust reports that the graduation ceremony for the new 90 health workers is coming at a time when the authorities of the force announced the construction of a 345-bed joint-user accommodation facility for both NAFSMSAM and the Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing Sciences (NAFCONS) to enhance health services.
Our correspondent reports that the new health personnel of the Sundry Medical A1 Upgrading Course 6/2025 and Basic Medical Course 3/2025 comprise 43 Sundry AI graduates and 47 Basic Medical Course respectively.
Speaking during the combined graduation ceremony over the weekend, Abubakar reminded the graduates that ‘To whom much is given, much is expected”, urging them to use their newly acquired knowledge, skills, and attitudes to surmount any challenge that comes their way in the course of their duties.
He reiterated that the NAF had taken deliberate steps to strengthen the Medical Services Branch, some of which were the establishment of 13 hospitals, 41 well-equipped medical centres and clinics, and 2 renowned schools of medical sciences, including the young and prolific Nigerian Air Force School of Medical Sciences and Aviation Medicine.
He reassured Nigerians that the force remains fully committed to safeguarding the health and security of all Nigerians. “Through our expanding network of medical facilities, highly trained professionals, and continuous investment in healthcare infrastructure, we are not only enhancing the welfare of our personnel but also extending quality medical services to the wider public.”
