JUST IN: MASS Resignations, Defections Hit PDP In Osun Community After Wole Oke’s Resignation (READ DETAILS)

THIS is not the best of times for the ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State as some of its prominent members are tendering their letters of resignation in the Obokun/Oriade Local Government areas of the State.

The mass resignations was as a result of resignation of a member of Federal House of Representatives representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Honourable Busayo Oluwole Oke from the PDP last week.

Hon. Oke who has a large followership in the area has put the government of Governor Ademola Adeleke into confusion following his resignation.

In a letter in circulation, Governor Adeleke summoned an emergency meeting of remaining leaders in Obokun/Oriade, the outcome of the meeting is yet to be released as at the time of filing this report.

Recent resignation was Mercy Ayodele who was until her resignation the former Caretaker Secretary for Obokun PDP Local Government Excos, currently serving as an LGEA member tendered her formal resignation this morning, effective immediately.

In her resignation letter addressed to PDP leaders and members, Mercy expressed deep gratitude for the opportunities and support she received during her tenure.

However, she lamented that the party has recently become a “one-man show” where dissenting voices are stifled, signalling a loss of focus and internal democracy.

In another significant move, Karounwi Festus O., President of the Association of Inconsequential People of Nigeria, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), effective today, April 30, 2025.

Karounwi, in his resignation letter, explicitly stated that his unwavering loyalty lies with Hon. Oluwole Oke and, as such, will be joining him in the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Mass Defection Hits Esa Oke PDP As Owoeye Samuel Abiodun (OSA) received hundreds of PDP members into APC.

Hon. Owoeye Samuel Abiodun aka OSA, Party Leaders, and Ward Executive Received PDP Ward 7 Chairman Mr. Faniyi Omolayo and PDP Local Government Secretary Hon. Omotosho Oladipo @ APC Ward 7 ESA OKE Party Secretariat yesterday.

The defection took place during the APC meeting held at the APC party Secretariat in Esa Oke where Hundreds of supporters also renounced their PDP membership to join the APC.

This historic defection underscores the growing popularity of the APC in Obokun and Osun State and the appeal of its policies and programs.
