NNPC reduces petrol pump price

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has lowered the cost of petrol at its stations in Lagos and Abuja.

Monday, April 21, 2025, fuel was being sold for N880 per litre at some NNPC stations in Lagos, while in Abuja, the new price was N935 per litre.

Previously, petrol sold for N925 in Lagos and N950 in Abuja, which means Lagos saw a N45 cut and Abuja a N15 reduction.

At Apple Junction in Lagos, NNPC sold petrol for N880 per litre.

Meanwhile, the Ago Palace outlet offered it at N905, and other locations like Idimu and Ikotun roads had it at N910 per litre.

In Abuja, filling stations in areas such as Airport Road, Lugbe, and Kubwa were seen selling petrol at N935 per litre.

This drop in prices followed a recent change by the Dangote refinery, which reduced its own ex-depot price to N890 per litre.

On April 16, some of its major partners also started selling fuel at N890 in Lagos, down from N920.

The reduction in prices by both NNPC and Dangote’s partners is seen as a response to changes in supply and market conditions, offering some relief to drivers already struggling with high fuel costs in recent months.
