CHAIRMAN OWOLABI HONOURS THE SUMPTUOUS CELEBRATION OF AGE-GROUP IN OGE-OKEAGBE
In Akoko Nation- Communities, the change from one aged-group to the other takes place every nine years simultaneously. It is usually a very grand celebration with the different groups displaying their prowess.
Similarly, Oge community is one of the four ancient towns that constitutes Okeagbe Akoko in Akoko Northwest local government area of Ondo state. The town is blessed with so many illustrious Sons and Daughters who are doing very fantastically well in their various chosen careers.They all warmly welcomed their well wishers who came from their various destinations to celebrating this year Ibegbe Day Celebration with them, April 19th, 2025.
According to the Chairman Planning Committee of this year Oge Ibegbe 2025, Pastor John Kayode Ogunjobi while delivery his welcome address at the event, said that this year packaged was marked with so many development. He explained that God has been so wonderful to Oge Community in all ramifications, saying that this is just the beginning, to move Oge forward, they would not be distracted in their focus to set Oge community on the path of progress.
The Chairman expressed his appreciations to the event’s committees for making this year Ibegbe celebration -a successful one.
While delivery his speech at the occasion, HRH Oba Alex Sanuolu Jimoh, Sekeseke Adodo 11, The Owage of Okeagbe Akoko, congratulated all sons and daughters of the Oge community for witnessing this year occasion in good delight.
The traditional ruler, Oba Sekeseke reminded his community’s people that the service to the community must be a collective agenda. He stated that the progress of the community belongs to all and sundry and nobody will develop it for them if they neglect the community. He urged all the citizen of the town to consciously make efforts towards helping the community grow into its full potential.
” Whether you are a child or an adult, a man or woman , we all have our roles to play in community development.” He opined
Oba Jimoh advised his community’s people to work with him in making Oge community -a place of pride and business hub centre for Akoko and Ondo state as a whole.
The Oge Monarch, Oba Jimoh specially thanked the local government chairman, Hon. Esan Owolabi for honouring their invitation in order to add more value and colour to the occasion. He prayed that the chairman tenure shall witness tremendous positive change and development.
In his own speech delivered at the event, the Akoko Northwest local government chairman, Hon. Esan Owolabi JP congratulated the Oge community and their Egbegun on this important event.
The people’s chairman said that the Government is aware of the requests of the community . He assured them that the government is ready to do everything within its power to alleviate the suffering of the people.
He stated that he’s aware of the contribution of the community group known as “Egbegun” in the development of the local government especially in the overall interest of Oge community. He promised them that his government will do everything within his reach to assist the community.
Owolabi used the opportunity to restates his vision for the local government. Commending the local government people for their total cooperation and continued support to his government.
In conclusion, he once again, congratulated all sons and daughters of Oge-both at home and diaspora. He reminded them that they should make the development of their community their first priorities. Reminding that East or West home is the best.
Hon. Owolabi solicited the support of all to his government so that he can achieve the best for the local government.
Many dignitaries was honoured at the occasion for their selfless service to the development of the community.
The Ibegbe event was well attended by the community’s well wishers who came from far and near to celebrating with the sons and daughters of the ancient community.
