Barely 72 hours after Senator Umaru Al-Makura and other members of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc of the All Progressives Congress (APC) disclosed that CPC is not pulling out of not APC, former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami has dismissed the claim by the Al-Makura group.

Barely 72 hours after Senator Umaru Al-Makura and other members of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc of the All Progressives Congress (APC) disclosed that CPC is not pulling out of not APC, former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami has dismissed the claim by the Al-Makura group.

Instead, the former Minister of Justice said Al-Makura and his co-travelers, like Aminu Masari, can’t speak for the CPC bloc.
The former Minister insisted that they did what they did basically for personal reasons.
Speaking through his media aide, Muhammed Bello Doka, said the CPC bloc, which was the platform the former president used is the only bloc that could speak on whether or not it is leaving All Progressives Congress (APC) and not Al-Makura’s group.
“When you say CPC bloc, one needs to know who they are referring to. Is it the likes of Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Adamu Adamu, Masari, and Faruku Adamu Aliyu who, a few months ago had been throwing Buhari under the bus, in desperate attempts to gain relevance that should decide for the bloc? Malami queried.d
The former attorney general of the federation described their actions as personal, with no connection with CPC bloc.
He also posited that it was for them to gain relevance in the APC for personal benefits.
On the rumour making the round on his defection to the Social Democracy Party (SDP) Malami said it was not true but rather the figments of the imagination of those peddling the rumour.
