The Wife of Nigeria’s President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu OON, CON, has inaugurated the ‘Free to Shine’ campaign, a pioneering effort designed to eradicate HIV/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis among women in Nigeria’s South-West region. This initiative exemplifies her unrelenting commitment to advancing the health and welfare of our nation’s citizens, with a particular focus on women and children.
During her two-day visit to Ondo State, the First Lady demonstrated her unwavering commitment to improving the health outcomes of Nigerians. The ‘Free to Shine’ campaign is strategically aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda, underscoring the paramount importance of health in national development. By striving to significantly reduce new HIV infections among women of reproductive age, eliminate mother-to-child transmission, and ensure access to treatment for those affected, this initiative embodies the First Lady’s vision for a healthier and more prosperous Nigeria.
Notably, on the second day of her visit, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) distributed 10,000 professional kits to nurses and midwives, further enhancing the capacity of healthcare professionals to provide quality care. This gesture is a testament to the First Lady’s dedication to empowering healthcare workers and improving the overall healthcare system.
