Aiyedatiwa’s Wife steals Show with Ecstatic Cheers during Remi Tinubu’s Visit to Ondo
It was a moment of joy, memories and ecstasy as Mrs Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, wife of the Ondo state Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Thursday stole the show during the First lady, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu’s visit to the state.
Mrs Tinubu was in Ondo state for her Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme and was accompanied by some wives of other Governors at the event held at the international culture and event center Akure, the state capital.
The President’s Wife also distributed 10,000 professional kits – Crocs and Scrubs – to midwives in the southwest zone of the country at the event as the venue was filled to the brim with women from all walks of life including politicians in the state.
However the event was put on a cheerful hold for a few minutes when Aiyedatiwa’s Wife was called for the opening remarks as all ecstatic women in the venue stood up to cheer her.
The event was the first time Mrs Aiyedatiwa would appear at a public event since February when her husband was sworn in as the new governor of Ondo state.
Mrs Aiyedatiwa’s beauty and height were noticed among all Women at the event was gorgeously dressed in a green and white attire walking into the event Hall side by side with governor Aiyedatiwa and Senator Remi Tinubu.
The women who were overwhelmed with joy kept singing different songs to celebrate Mrs Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa when she was called to mount the podium and give her the opening address.
While recognising the guests and personalities seated, and it was time to recognize the governor, Mrs Aiyedatiwa said, “his Excellency, my Husband”, the statement that aroused huge Cheers and applause by the women and halted her speech for over a minute.
Delivering her address, Mrs Aiyedatiwa appreciated Mrs Tinubu for choosing Ondo state for such a historic programme and appreciated the women for coming out enmasse to welcome the President’s Wife.
“I must also appreciate you ma, for the choice of our dear Sunshine State to host these laudable 2-day programmes.
“It is indeed a demonstration of your motherly love and care for us as a people and this will remain ever green in our collective memory.
“This intervention, under the Renewed Hope Initiative Programme (RHI) will complement the Federal Government’s on-going efforts to ensure that quality healthcare system is accessible to all women and vulnerable in the Country.
Permit me to state that this intervention will also go a long way to enhance maternal and child healthcare across Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti States which constitute the South-West region.
“I sincerely appreciate you for recognising that the demands of the health profession require not only skills and compassion but also the right tools and kits to encourage our midwives as they serve others.
“These incentives will go a long way to encourage, inspire and support our dedicated midwives and reduce infant mortality and morbidity in the Country.
“I therefore urge the beneficiaries to see this as a call to serve, bringing hope and care to mothers, newborns and the vulnerable across the region. You should strive to justify these benefits by working hard to ensure improved health outcomes in our Country, Nigeria.
“Permit me to also express my profound appreciation to the good women of Ondo State for coming out in your large numbers to receive our caring mother, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, OON, CON, the wife of the President. You have, by your presence, added dignity and colours to this ceremony.”
The Dome was also erupted with cheers when governor Aiyedatiwa recognized his wife, calling her names as “Oluwaseun Esther Anike Aiyedatiwa”
In an interview, Some women said they have missed the office of the wife of the governor because it is meant to further empower women and children through various pet programmes.
They expressed the hope that Mrs Aiyedatiwa would resume fully to impact more on them and complement the successes being recorded by governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
