Kwankwaso would soon rejoin APC

The national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, said the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 poll, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, would soon rejoin the APC.

Speaking when he received members of the Tinubu support groups (TSG) at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja on Tuesday, he described Kwankwaso as a general who is wandering in the wilderness after losing his foot soldiers in the battle front.

Ganduje believed that Kwankwaso was left with no choice but to rejoin the APC after losing the vast majority of his loyalists in both the Kano and National Assembly to the APC in recent times.

Ganduje, who was a two-term Governor of Kano State, claimed that Kwankwaso’s woes were compounded by the fact that the NNPP is as good as a “dead” political platform.

Ganduje, who referred to the spate of defection by key opposition figures across the country to the APC fold, expressed willingness to welcome him back to the fold of the APC.

“That party called the NNPP is dead and it will soon be buried. The coffin where we would put the dead body of the party has already been constructed.

“What remains of the party now is to dig the grave and they are already digging it. I assure you that their Senators, House of Representatives, state Assembly members, their SSG all have resigned and are all coming to the party soon

“Even the so-called leader of the party (Kwankwaso), he too after losing everywhere wants to come back to APC. We will welcome him when coming home after losing his foot soldiers.”

Ganduje stated that the ongoing gang-up by a coalition of politicians would fail, adding that there is no better political platform for Nigerians than the APC.
