Anambra Police Arrest Two Siblings After Gunf!ght Over Dispute, Recover F!rearms

The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two siblings involved in a gunfight on Saturday evening after a long-standing dispute between them turned violent.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga shared in a statement on Sunday that the operatives also arrested an accomplice who had been called in for backup by one of the siblings involved.
Ikenga further explained that police rushed to the scene to prevent the situation from escalating further. One of the siblings, who sustained a gunshot wound, was promptly rescued and taken to the hospital, where he is now recovering.
During the operation, police recovered an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, and six rounds of live ammunition.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the violent incident was the result of a deep-seated and ongoing dispute between the two siblings.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that both the victim and the armed suspect who sought the assistance of another are brothers and have been having a serious misunderstanding.
“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a comprehensive investigation,” Ikenga stated.
