A COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE END OF IRELE LG ELDERS/LEADERS MEETING ON 4TH APRIL, 2025 AT DE’JAVA HOTEL, AKURE.
The communiqué reads:
1. That Irele local Government elders/leaders commend Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa over all the ongoing projects across the nocks and crannies of Irele local government.
2. That we appreciate the Governor over all the ongoing projects across Irele local government noting Akotogbo-Iyansan roads, Iju-Osun-Akotogbo roads, Ajagba-Akotogbo roads, Ajagba-IjuOsun roads, Ode Omi-Iyara-Ruwahe roads, All the feeder roads across Irele township among others and the appointment of one of our illustrious sons, Prof Simidele Odimayo into his state cabinet.
3. That Irele local Government elders/leaders, in lieu of 1 & 2 above, heartily declared our full support for the Governor’s leadership in the state.
4. That the elders/leaders are more united than before, demanding more advancement to our land in accordance with the ‘OUR EASE’ agenda of Mr Governor,
5. That the committee set up at the meeting should identify key areas that require urgent interventions, including all abandoned road projects, and bring the report up for elders/leaders discussion.
6. That it has now become sacrosanct for leaders across the local government to reach a compromise on any developmental issues. This is believed to unite the people more, as interest will be well represented.
7. That we frown at those impersonating the leaders, and misleading the people on the media.
8. That Hon. Jide Akinfe must work closely with Prof Simidele Odimayo and other necessary stakeholders to drive more fortunes to the local government, even as the entire local government currently does not have functioning Banks, higher institutions, sitting Oba in Irele and more importantly, electricity.
9. That the hassles militating against the restoration of our electric power be looked into within the shortest period, forwarded to the appropriate quarters, and follow up by the committee that will be set up in the next elders/leaders gathering.
10. That the Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s face be sought concerning the short-change Irele local government saw in the last employment in both SUBEB and TESCOM.
