Congratulatory Message from Comrade Titus Kyautah, National Secretary, BAT Solidarity Movement
Your Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,
On behalf of the Director-General, Engr. Dr. Yinka Williams, and all members of the BAT Solidarity Movement, I extend our warmest congratulations to you on the occasion of your 73rd birthday. It is an honor to celebrate a visionary leader like yourself, whose unparalleled dedication, passion, and commitment to Nigeria have significantly shaped the course of our nation’s history.
At BAT Solidarity Movement, we have always known your immense capacity to transform Nigeria, and it was for this reason that we resolutely supported you during the 2023 elections. We knew that you were the right man to lead our nation out of the challenges it faces, and today, we continue to stand firmly behind you with unwavering support to ensure your success in the Presidency.
Your journey in public service is a testament to your tenacity, courage, and vision for a better Nigeria. During the years of military rule, you were an indomitable force for democracy, fighting tirelessly for the restoration of civilian rule. You played a crucial role in the actualization of the democratic process that Nigerians are now benefiting from. Your commitment to freedom and democracy was evident even when the odds were stacked against you, and it was through your leadership and sacrifice that the foundation for our current democratic system was laid.
As the Governor of Lagos State, your leadership transformed the state into an economic powerhouse and a beacon of good governance. Your forward-thinking policies, investment in infrastructure, and commitment to improving the quality of life for Lagosians set a standard for what effective governance could achieve. You demonstrated how strong leadership and smart policy decisions can transform not just a state, but an entire nation.
When you left office in 2007, you did not retreat into the background. Instead, you took on the mantle of opposition leader, building bridges and forging alliances across party lines. You brought together disparate political forces and made them work for a common goal. Your efforts culminated in the merger of various opposition parties, leading to the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC). This historic move set the stage for the landmark victory of 2015, when the ruling party was defeated, and Nigeria entered a new political era.
In 2023, your ascension to the presidency was the culmination of years of hard work, sacrifices, and visionary leadership. We, at BAT Solidarity Movement, knew that you were the right leader to bring about the change Nigeria needed, and we stand proud to have been a part of your successful campaign.
Since assuming office on May 29th, 2023, your administration has made significant strides in various sectors, delivering tangible results that are already benefiting Nigerians. In agriculture, your efforts to boost food security and support local farmers are laying the groundwork for a more self-sufficient and resilient agricultural sector. Your focus on economic reforms has already led to increased investor confidence and a stabilization of the financial system, providing a solid foundation for future growth.
In education, your policies are beginning to bear fruit, improving access to quality education and preparing Nigeria’s youth for the challenges of the future. The oil and gas sector has also witnessed a significant transformation under your leadership, with your push for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as an alternative to petroleum products set to revolutionize the energy landscape.
In transportation, your government has embarked on major infrastructure projects that will have long-lasting effects on national mobility and economic growth. The Lagos-Kano rail, Lagos-Calabar rail, and Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway are vital projects that will transform transportation and commerce across Nigeria. The completion of these projects will dramatically reduce travel times, enhance trade, and foster economic development in communities along these corridors.
The Lagos-Abuja super highway, another visionary project, will reduce travel times between these two major economic hubs, stimulating economic activities and fostering greater integration between regions. These projects, once completed, will not only improve the daily lives of Nigerians but will also contribute to the creation of jobs, boosting the economy and providing sustainable infrastructure for generations to come.
In the area of security, your administration’s efforts to restore peace and stability across Nigeria are commendable. Although challenges remain, your government is making steady progress in ensuring that Nigerians can live, work, and thrive in a safe and secure environment.
Your leadership in aviation has also been transformative, with modernized airports and improved air travel standards, contributing to Nigeria’s growing presence on the global stage. On the international front, your diplomatic efforts have been crucial in strengthening Nigeria’s relationships with other nations, creating opportunities for economic collaboration and international partnerships.
The visible impacts of these reforms are already being felt, and while the full benefits will take time to materialize, we are confident that your administration is on the right track. We understand that the decisions you have had to make, such as removing subsidies and implementing critical reforms, were tough but necessary for the long-term prosperity of Nigeria. We call on all Nigerians to be patient as these measures take effect. Already, we are seeing positive signs: petroleum product prices are decreasing, food prices are stabilizing, and exchange rates are stabilizing, signaling that Nigeria is headed in the right direction.
On this special occasion of your 73rd birthday, we wish you continued good health, wisdom, and strength as you navigate the challenges ahead. We are confident that under your leadership, Nigeria will continue to rise and prosper.
