Group Fingers Okotete, Emerhor, and Ochei in Botched Attempt to Mortgage APC

The New Delta Grassroot Movement (NDGM) has accused three prominent figures—Stella Okotete, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, and Victor Ochei—of plotting to undermine the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State. The allegations were made by Engr. Felix Akpoyibo, the National Coordinator of NDGM and a chieftain of the APC in Delta State, during an exclusive interview with Abuja Network News.
Engr. Akpoyibo claimed that the trio attempted to sell the APC’s structure to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State in exchange for political favors. He described the scheme as a calculated effort to shield Governor Sheriff and his predecessor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, from ongoing investigations into an alleged ₦1.3 trillion financial mismanagement scandal. Akpoyibo warned that their actions threatened the integrity of the APC and could have jeopardized its prospects in future elections.
“This brazen attempt to sell the APC is an affront to every loyal party member in Delta State and across the nation,” Akpoyibo declared. He further called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC National Working Committee to take immediate action by suspending Emerhor, Okotete, and Ochei. According to him, decisive measures are necessary to preserve the party’s credibility and deter similar betrayals in the future.
Akpoyibo also praised the efforts of key APC stakeholders in Delta State, including Chief James Ibori, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, and Senator Ned Nwoko, for their vigilance and resistance to the alleged plot. Their intervention, he said, was instrumental in preventing the party’s structure from being hijacked.
He emphasized the broader implications of the conspiracy, warning that allowing such actions to go unchecked could hand control of the APC’s 2027 election tickets to opposition forces, effectively burying the corruption allegations against Okowa and Sheriff.
“The party leadership must act decisively to send a clear message that such betrayal will not be tolerated,” Akpoyibo insisted. “This is a fight for the soul of our party, and we must not relent in protecting it from internal and external sabotage.”
Engr. Akpoyibo’s statements have sparked widespread debate within Delta State’s political landscape, with many APC members rallying around his call for accountability and reform. The unfolding developments highlight the critical challenges facing the APC as it seeks to maintain unity and integrity amid mounting internal conflicts.
