APC Chieftain Commends Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Inclusive Governance and Support for Non-Indigenes in Lagos

Dennis Joseph, an APC chieftain and aide to the Kosofe Local Government Chairman, has praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration for its commitment to inclusiveness and support for non-indigenes in Lagos State.

Joseph highlighted several key initiatives that have positively impacted non-indigenes, including the Sunday Market initiative, which provides subsidized food items, the Red Line Rail, and reduced public transportation costs. He emphasized the governor’s efforts to ensure accessible healthcare for all Lagos residents, regardless of their state of origin.

“The governor’s initiatives have been remarkable and commendable. The non-indigene community has benefited significantly from his policies in areas such as food security, transportation, healthcare, housing, and road infrastructure,” Joseph said.

On transportation, Joseph noted that Lagos now boasts one of the best road networks in Africa, and the Red and Blue Line rail systems have substantially reduced commuting costs for the non-indigene community. He added, “Traffic accidents have decreased considerably, traffic lights function well, and roads are regularly maintained.”

In healthcare, he highlighted the free medical services organized by the state government in various locations, which have been instrumental in supporting the non-indigene community’s health needs.

Joseph further commended the governor for fostering social inclusion, as well as implementing youth and women’s skill acquisition and empowerment programs. “We are grateful for Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to our well-being. His initiatives have given non-indigenes a sense of belonging and demonstrate his dedication to inclusive governance,” he said.

Joseph also called on the governor to address critical concerns raised in a letter submitted by the non-indigene community. He expressed confidence that, as a listening leader, the governor would give due attention to their concerns.

“We wish the governor and his team continued success in their mission to establish Lagos as a reputable mega city and maintain its position as one of Africa’s top five economies by GDP,” Joseph concluded.
