The All Progressives Congress (APC) is setting its sights on reclaiming the leadership of Bauchi State, currently governed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), with a well-defined agenda for the upcoming 2027 elections. Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South at the National Assembly, articulated this commitment to party stakeholders during a recent enlarged meeting in Bauchi. With a focus on unity, reconciliation, and disciplined coordination among party members, the APC aims to revive its influence and build a cohesive strategy to address the needs of Bauchi’s citizens.
The stakeholders’ meeting, attended by key political figures from Bauchi in President Tinubu’s administration, all senators, House of Representatives members, State House of Assembly members, and former Governor Isa Yuguda, underscored the party’s renewed momentum. A representative for Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, the 2023 APC gubernatorial candidate, was also present, emphasizing the unified front the party is presenting. In his address, State Chairman Hon. Mohammed Hassan pledged the party’s support to Bauchi’s ministers in the federal cabinet and voiced strong backing for President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, aimed at transforming Nigeria.
Unifying Bauchi APC: A New Committee and Renewed Commitment
In a bid to restore unity and commitment, Hon. Hassan announced the formation of a reconciliation and disciplinary committee. This body will work to bridge divides within the APC, fostering a united front as the party prepares for 2027. Hon. Hassan emphasized that the APC’s losses in 2019 and 2023 to narrow margins were due to fragmentation within the party. By prioritizing internal harmony and discipline, the APC aims to avoid the dormancy it experienced after these defeats.
A Revitalized Party with a Renewed Hope Agenda
Senator Buba expressed optimism about the party’s future, emphasizing the core values of peace, unity, and progressive governance that he believes will define the APC’s 2027 campaign. His statements reflect the broader message the party is sending to its members and the public: that APC in Bauchi is not only rejuvenated but committed to a vision of development and good governance that resonates with the aspirations of Bauchi citizens.
