RESPONSE TO RECENT SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEO CLIP: SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT
The recent video circulating on social media, allegedly portraying Ondo State Governor, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, in a negative light, demands a response Initially, we considered ignoring this manipulated content, but it is necessary to clarify the facts and counter the narrative crafted by the opposition. This video clip is a deliberate attempt by political enemies of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to damage the governor’s reputation. We aim here to expose the truth, address the questionable nature of the video, and outline the inconsistencies and significant questions that arise from this situation.
The video clearly appears to be an orchestrated attempt to discredit the governor’s character. It features a woman delivering a scripted performance aimed at portraying His Excellency as uncaring and insensitive to the needs of his people. However, those who know Governor Ayedatiwa understand his genuine care and dedication to the people of Ondo State, as evidenced by his achievements and positive impact across various sectors. His record speaks for itself, and no fabrication can alter that.
A closer examination of the video raises serious concerns about its credibility. The woman appears to be delivering lines in a rehearsed manner, with the camera positioned to capture a planned performance. The ambiguous setting does not resemble a genuine encounter, and the woman’s demeanour suggests she is participating out of desperation rather than truthfulness. This suggests a calculated attempt to deceive viewers for political gain.
Several questions naturally arise from this incident, each highlighting the inconsistencies and fabricated nature of the allegations. Firstly, where did she meet the governor if this encounter actually occurred, and why is there no credible location mentioned? Secondly, the governor’s residence and office are secured environments; who granted her access, or was this encounter imagined for effect? Thirdly, who acted as an intermediary to arrange this supposed meeting? The absence of a credible go-between further questions her story’s legitimacy. Fourthly, who are her witnesses? For such a serious claim, one would expect witnesses to be present, yet none are seen or referenced in the video. Fifthly, what is her identity and local government affiliation? Her anonymity leaves room for further suspicion. Sixthly, the nature of her child’s illness is conspicuously absent from the video, though such information would be crucial in assessing the credibility of her request for assistance.
Is the governor’s residence a medical facility? It is unusual to seek medical help at the governor’s home rather than a hospital. The woman claims she was directed to someone for assistance by the governor. Who is this person, and why is not their identity disclosed? She also references other individuals who allegedly lost their children. Who are these people, and why are their identities concealed? Lastly, the timing of this video’s release right before the gubernatorial election raises suspicions. Why was this supposed “evidence” held back until now? The orchestrators of this video have failed to provide coherent answers to these critical questions. Their silence reveals that this is nothing more than a politically motivated attempt to mislead the electorate ahead of the November 16, 2024, gubernatorial election. Desperate for power, some politicians seem willing to resort to deceitful tactics to achieve their goals.
Governor Ayedatiwa’s achievements and dedication to Ondo State are well-documented. He has fostered development, improved economic opportunities, and consistently supported the people. This scripted video, designed to tarnish his reputation, will not deter the governor from his mission to serve with integrity and transparency. We trust that the discerning people of Ondo State can see through these tricks and will stand by a leader who has proven his worth through actions, not empty words or staged performances.
