Today, l join the world to celebrate our teachers for the remarkable difference they are making and the positive impact they have made and still contributing towards the advancement of humanity.
Teachers deserve the accolades for their roles in stamping out illiteracy and securing the future of their students, and this occasion of International Teachers’ Day truly presents the opportunity to do so in a resounding way.
I also commend you all for your immense contributions to nation-building. I know quite well that policies in the education sector cannot succeed without the unflinching support and cooperation of teachers. It will not be an overstatement for me to say that all of us have enjoyed the mentorship and benefitted immensely from the services of a teacher to attain our present status in life.
