The Guardian reports that the Health Ministry officials confirmed that emergency services were working tirelessly to transfer the injured to hospitals.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has expressed deep alarm over reports of widespread explosions involving communication devices in Lebanon and Syria on Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

In a statement from his spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, Guterres called on all parties involved to exercise “maximum restraint” in order to prevent further escalation.

 

The UN chief also urged the conflicting sides to “immediately return to a cessation of hostilities to restore stability,” Guterres said.
