Yesterday, he engaged with the people of the state from morning till evening, showing appreciation for their attention to the leaders and elders’ advice regarding the ongoing protests across the country.

Obviously, Ondo State is recognized as the most peaceful state in the Niger Delta region and the entire southwest of Nigeria. The indigenes of Ondo State are known for their calmness, kindness, and gentleness in handling issues. Rooted in Yoruba traditional culture and values, they show respect and support for constituted authorities at all levels.

As a state endowed with intellectuals, our commitment to education has equipped us with the intellectual capacity to engage in civil and constructive criticism regarding both state and federal governance. We have learned from the lessons of the 1983 elections and aim to build on that experience.

Fortunately, we have a governor who listens, performs, and is committed to using available resources to develop the state. Unlike some governors who cannot move freely among their people, Governor Ayedatiwa confidently walks the streets of Akure, even amid ongoing protests, receiving praise from the youth. This indicates his wide acceptance among the people of Ondo State and suggests a strong position for him and the APC party in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

His one of the rare leaders who genuinely live among their people and are loved by them often have a significant impact. For example, during the 2011 Egyptian protests, then-President Mohamed Morsi mingled with the crowd without being harmed, demonstrating a connection with his people. Similarly, Nelson Mandela, during his presidency in South Africa, often walked among the people without fear, showing his commitment to unity and reconciliation. In Africa, leaders like Thomas Sankara of Burkina Faso were known for their close ties to the people, often seen riding a bicycle among them. This direct engagement fosters trust and ensures that leaders are more attuned to the needs and aspirations of their citizens.

His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa is a leader who genuinely lives among the people and is committed to using available resources to improve their lives and can significantly enhance the community. Such a leader can build trust and loyalty; when people see their leader among them, they feel valued and are more likely to support their policies. They can understand people’s needs through direct interaction, leading to more effective governance.

To cap it all, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa is a man of peace. Promoting unity and peace is another benefit, as a visible and accessible leader can bridge gaps and reduce the likelihood of conflicts. Moreover, such leaders ensure efficient resource utilization by focusing on using resources wisely to provide basic infrastructure and social amenities, improving the overall quality of life.
