ONDO STATE YOUTHS: CALL TO AVOID NATIONWIDE PROTESTS ON AUGUST 1, 2024
Let us continue spreading the Gospel until it reaches the youths in Ondo State. Known for our peace and tranquillity, Ondo State youths are not prone to violence or engaging in illegal activities. We are known as people who approach issues with calm and gentleness. It is important that our traditional rulers, political leaders, and reglious leaders actively promote peace and discourage Ondo State youths from participating in the upcoming protest on August 1, 2024.
In the past, especially during the EndSARS protests, our leaders successfully advocated for peace, resulting in positive outcomes. For example, while many government properties were destroyed in other states, including our neighbouring states, Ondo State remained peaceful, and its properties were untouched. Unfortunately, Okitipupa local government that suffered it still faces challenges in repairing the damage from those protests.
It is evident that Ondo State youths should distance themselves from current calls for protest in Nigeria. Instead, we should focus on collaborating with our own brother, uncle, and daddy, the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, to advance the state. This is a significant opportunity for us to support the development of Ondo State, a state that has long been overlooked despite its contributions to the economy of the nation as an oil producing state.
By working together and fostering harmony, we can support His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa in his mission to advance the development of Ondo State and southwest region as a whole. It is crucial for leaders across all sectors, particularly political leaders, to actively engage with the youth in their respective constituencies. They should emphasize the importance of avoiding actions that could lead to violence or conflict, which might disrupt the peace and stability of the state and Nigeria at large.
Conclusively , as far as I’m concerned, educating the youth on the benefits of unity and constructive dialogue will contribute significantly to maintaining law and order and achieving sustainable development for the state. By promoting a culture of cooperation and respect, we can collectively work towards a prosperous future for Ondo State and its people.
