Discover Her Bank Accounts: Try to find out how many bank accounts your daughter has. You can do this by asking her (i) which account she prefers for money transfers or (ii) telling her there’s a grant from the federal government and you were fortunate to get 10 slots which you want her to benefit from. Ask her to send all her account numbers so you can fill out the grant form. You might discover that your daughter, who you thought only had a FIRST BANK/UBA/WEMA account, has more accounts than you do. Don’t panic—proceed to step 2.
Request Bank Statements: Once you know all the banks she uses, request the bank statements for all her accounts. Don’t do this if she’s not with you; wait until she’s home on break to ensure you get the authentic statements. You can use the same method from step 1, telling her the next stage of the grant requires statements from all her banks.
3. Review the Statements: After obtaining the bank statements, carefully review the inflows to determine if you are her primary sponsor or if she has other sources of income that you’re unaware of.
