*ONDO NORTH YOUTH ALLIANCE (ONYA)*

*STATE OF THE DISTRICT*
It has become pertinent to address members of our Senatorial districts and the Press briefly on the substance of issues and our current agitations.

While we are yet to physically engage with the senator as proposed by well-meaning leaders, our concerns have been yielding a few results.

Recently, following our agitation, the distinguished senator representing the good people of Ondo North, Senator Olajide Ipinsagba has dolled out scholarships for indigents. While we appreciate this posture, we are equally demanding swift implementation/payment.

*HOLISTICALLY ADDRESSING MATTERS ARISING*

We remain resolute to engage in a more purposeful dialogue that will bear a 21st century ideal of adequate representation. The robust idea of democracy is to pave the way for more engagements, feedback mechanisms, and adequate political participation from all concerned.

The concerted effort to have this done is imperative. The people will always win when we unite and push forward.

*ON ONYA*

The Ondo North Youth Alliance (ONYA), under the leadership of the undersigned, will continue to pursue and put the interest of her people at the forefront of all agitations. There is no gainsaying that as the group in forefront of championing the cause of leadership across Ondo North Senatorial District, our commitment cannot be broken or divided by false actors and spectators who wishes to cashout on our collective struggle for development. Viz-a-viz moles in the midst of ideological minds. We will remain dogged and resolute in the face of adversaries. Our commitment is embellished in Unity, Progress, Prosperity, and Collective actualization of the common dreams and aspirations of the people of Ondo North

*COMPLAINTS ON TIME BOUND OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS*

We also wish to use this medium to appreciate our distinguished senator, for listening and providing succor to the students populace at this economically hostile period. While we are impressed with the need to get this done in record time, we wish to call the attention of the distinguished senator to increase the timeline for the collection of the forms to two weeks to enable students of Ondo North Origin across the country ample time to be beneficiaries of this project. While we agree on the need to have it done swiftly. We bear in mind the potential risk for the students on such emergency trips, especially for those outside Ondo State, who in our wisdom should also be beneficiaries of this scheme. *_A minimum of two weeks to allow seamless participation of qualified indigent students is sacrosanct._*

*IMPACTS OF THE SCHEME ON THE STUDENTS*

We realize how much this scheme will help to alleviate the pains of our parents who have to go through a lot to send their children to school. Especially at this trying times of economic meltdown. The inflation in the country is alarming. We appeal to our students to take advantage of this scheme and use it to impact their education positively. Families are only managing to survive day by day.
We acknowledge that this direct impact of our agitation will provide succor to many families. We assure our people of more effective dialogue and representation, moving forward.

*CONCLUSION*

For the avoidance of doubt, we have been calling out the senator and asking him for more. However, we have seen aides of the senator coming forward to discuss his achievements and plans for our senatorial district. The fact of the matter is that it is important to hear from the distinguished senator himself. It is worthy of note, that the recent publicity from the media aides occasioned by our demands have shown lack of clarity in dissemination of information, we consider this as an important part to be addressed after our engagement with the senator.

We will enjoin the senator to ensure that the process of obtaining the bursary is seamless, transparent, and accountable so that it will get to those who really need this assistance.

To our distinguished senator, we say thank you, but it is not yet Uhuru. We still have so many areas we need him to address in our Senatorial district in order to help alleviate the suffering prevalent in Ondo North.

We are willing to share ideas with the senator on how best to move Ondo North Senatorial District forward to achieve greater good for the greater number of people. We are not for personal aggradizement but the impeccable welfare of our people. We will continue to offer our intellectual support, necessary criticism, prayers and hands of followership whenever the need arises to ensure Ondo North becomes the cynosure of all eyes.
