HIGH COST OF FOOD ITEMS AND COMMODITIES IN ONDO CITY: RESOLUTIONS ADOPTED BY OSEMAWE IN COUNCIL AT THE STAKEHOLDERS AND YOUTH MEETING HELD AT OSEMAWE PALACE HALL ON 24TH OF APRIL 2024 AS COPIED BY OEYC

Having got the report of Iyaloja of Ondo kingdom Chief Mrs Bukola Akinniyi on the outcome of her meeting with Ondo market women after the 7days ultimatum given by the Osemawe and paramount ruler of Ondo kingdom, His Imperial Majesty Oba Dr Adesimbo Kiladejo Jilo 3, CFR,Abaiye; the following were ratified as RESOLUTIONS

1. That imposition of association membership of any kind on traders is prohibited in Ondo kingdom

2. ⁠That Ondo markets are declared free and open for every legal trader

3. ⁠That traders in legal items or wares from other communities, towns or states can trade freely in Ondo kingdom

4. ⁠That all moribund and abandoned community markets e.g Odosida, Okelisa, Ayeyemi, Akinjagunla,Igba,Oka, odojomu including neighborhood markets etc., should be revamped

5. ⁠That steps being taken to create more alternative markets like Shasha, Kara should be expedited

6. ⁠That any sellers or traders who feel threatened while selling her goods in Ondo city should call concerned constituted authorities, Iyaloja or youth president

7. ⁠That Iyaloja should make necessary publicity concerning the resolutions of market women on Osemawe’s directive

8. ⁠That any fuel station selling above approved pump price or exorbitant cost would be sealed off

9. ⁠That collection of extra charges on transactions done on any company’s POS machine especially fuel stations is canceled forthwith

10. ⁠That strict measures would be taken against any fuel station especially independent marketers who hoards fuel and dupe buyers and Ondo residents by selling inaccurate meter measures

11. That steps being taken by Ondo kingdom through the Osemawe in council to upgrade Agbogboke Injector transformer would be accelerated

12. That Ondo youths should be empowered to engage in agriculture and trading that could lead to the amelioration of current economic hardships being witnessed in Ondo kingdom and Nigeria at large

13. That bad conducts of some local government officials extorting goods motor drivers coming into Ondo markets and market women by extension is stopped forthwith

14. That intelligence and community task force team will be out to see to the implementation of the resolutions highlighted above
