Just In : Mimiko emerges As ZLP governorship Candidate
The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has announced Abass Mimiko, the younger sibling of former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, as its candidate for the forthcoming November 16 governorship election in the state.
Mimiko was affirmed as the candidate during the party’s primary election held at its secretariat in Akure, the state capital. Following his selection, the medical practitioner turned politician vowed to prioritize education, healthcare, economy, and security should he secure the position of Ondo State governor.
“We are forced to be reckoned with in this election. We will ensure food security, within a year of our being in the office, we will have a surplus of food in Ondo State; we will ensure affordable quality education, industrialization, housing, free health services for all residents are part of our programmes,” Mimiko said.
On whether his brother, former Governor Mimiko supported his ambition, as both of them were in different political parties, Abbas informed that his brother had thrown his weight behind him in his quest to become the next governor of the state.
Mimiko said,”Former governor Mimiko said he was not doubt if Abass becomes the governor of the state, everyone will enjoy it. I am coming out because he knows I would build on his achievements,” he declared
