I reminded Nigerian women of their strategic position as stakeholders and key players in national development.

I gave the charge during her presentation at a conference organized for State Commissioners of Women Affairs in Abuja with the theme: Critical Issues and Opportunities for Enhancing Rights, Protection and Justice for Women, Children and Persons with Disabilities”.

In my presentation, I observed the need for women to rediscover their potentials and brace up to on-going reforms by the Federal Government and initiatives by the Ministry of Women Affairs to provide level playing ground for Nigerian women.

“there are no limitations to what a woman can achieve but some of us are being discouraged by cultural norms and age-long practices which seem to impede our desire to contribute our quota to nation building but with the present dispensation, it is no longer business as usual because we have a President who is very passionate about the welfare of women and children and we must all take advantage of this opportunity”.

“Since we came on board in August last year, the Ministry under my watch has come up with several initiatives to reposition the status of women with the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and we are on course to change the narratives for Nigerian women on economic independence and reduce the pressure on our men in running the family. I want my Commissioners to take this message to the grassroots”

I also told my audience that a machinery is presently in place to ensure accountability and judicious utilization of donor funds meant for women and children “on the 7th March of this year, we will be unveiling several programs that will change the story of Nigerian women such as the E-Market portal tagged PBAT Cares for Women which will provide a one-stop-shop as convergence point for buyers, sellers, farmers, manufacturers, NGOs and other relevant players to rebuild the trust of Nigerians on economic independence, the portal will provide platform for seamless business ventures
