BISHOP (MRS) ODUSOLA OLUSEYI, PRESIDENT OF NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN SOCIETIES (NCWS), ONDO STATE CHAPTER, DISOWN FALSE ENDORSEMENT OF OLAMIDE FALANA FOR ILAJE/ESE-ODO REPS SEAT
I, Bishop (Mrs) Odusola 0luseyi, the Ondo State President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), wish to dissociate myself and the organization from the endorsement of the political aspirations of Olamide Falana for the Ilaje/Ese-odo Reps seat, which is presently circulating on social media.
The endorsement attributed to the NCWS and myself in a recent publication is false and fabricated. The alleged endorsement of Olamide Falana for the Ilaje/Ese-odo Reps seat is entirely untrue and does not reflect the views of the NCWS or myself.
I am shocked and disappointed that someone would fabricate such a statement and attribute it to the NCWS and myself. As a reputable organization known for its neutrality and integrity, the NCWS is not involved in any political endorsements. As a committed Christian and civil servant, I do not engage in politics, and would not use the name of the NCWS to endorse any candidate.
The alleged meeting at the Ministry of Women Affairs Hall, Akure, which was reportedly used to endorse Olamide Falana, did not take place. The NCWS did not authorize or participate in any such meeting or process.
The NCWS and I condemn the false endorsement and call on the relevant authorities to take necessary actions against those responsible for spreading false information and damaging the reputation of reputable individuals and organizations.
The public is advised to disregard the false endorsement and be aware that it does not represent the views of the NCWS or myself.
As a prominent women’s organization, the NCWS is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Our constitution mandates us to support the government of the day, and we are proud to work with the present Government of Ondo State under the leadership of our amiable Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, who has demonstrated a strong commitment to gender sensitivity and inclusivity.
The NCWS has always maintained a neutral stance in politics, and we will continue to do so. Our focus is on promoting the welfare and empowerment of women and girls, and we will not allow ourselves to be dragged into partisan politics.
We strongly condemn the act of misrepresenting the NCWS and its leadership, and consider it a serious breach of trust and ethics. We will take all necessary steps to protect the reputation and integrity of the organization, and to ensure that those responsible for this malicious act are brought to justice.
