Governor sanwolu Commissionned Another 233 unit housing today
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo‑Olu today commissioned a 233‑unit housing scheme in the Abraham Adesanya area of Eti‑Osa. The project, carried out in partnership with Urban Shelter Limited, adds a new set of modern homes and brings the state closer to closing its housing deficit.
Sanwo‑Olu said the initiative reflects the government’s strategy of combining public resources with private investment to deliver affordable homes. He noted that in the previous month the state handed over 420 apartments in Ajara, Badagry, and that over the past six years about 11,000 homes have been completed across Lagos.
To improve affordability, the administration introduced flexible approval processes, a 40 percent rebate on permits and tax incentives aimed at keeping prices low. The governor warned that partners who miss deadlines or fail to meet quality standards are being reviewed, stressing that delays will not be allowed to hinder the housing programme.
He urged the new homeowners to take pride in their community and to help protect the surrounding infrastructure, reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing more Lagosians with decent housing, one project at a time.
