Sowore Raises Alarm Over Regina Daniels’ Real Age at Time of Marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko
Human rights activist and political figure Omoyele Sowore has raised serious questions regarding the authentic age of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels at the time of her marriage to Senator (Prince) Ned Nwoko, a serving lawmaker under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Sowore, a copy of Regina Daniels’s international passport, allegedly obtained by concerned citizens, indicates that she was underage when she got married to Senator Nwoko. The passport, reportedly issued based on her birth certificate, presents a birth date that contradicts the age she was said to have attained during her marriage.
Sowore expressed concern over what he described as a “deliberate manipulation of age records” by the senator, who is said to rely on details from his INEC voters’ card to assert his wife’s age.
“It’s crucial to question INEC Nigeria over this discrepancy,” Sowore stated. “The process for obtaining a voter’s card does not undergo the same level of verification as an international passport, which requires a valid birth certificate and other legitimate IDs.”
The activist further alleged that Senator Nwoko, aware of the inconsistencies surrounding Regina’s age, avoided traveling with her to Europe or the United States, where strict immigration scrutiny could expose the truth.
Sowore’s revelation has reignited public debate about child marriage, age falsification, and the abuse of influence among the political elite. Many Nigerians on social media have called for INEC and relevant authorities to investigate the matter, insisting that no one should be above the law — regardless of status or political affiliation.
As the controversy unfolds, Nigerians await an official response from Senator Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniels, and INEC, to clarify the facts surrounding the documents in question.
