Nigerian Police Officer Rescued From Kidnappers After Three Months In Kwara Forest
The Kwara State Police Command was reportedly notified of the operation at about 5pm on November 9.
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have rescued a police officer, Ibrahim Muhammad, who spent three months in captivity after being abducted by armed men in Patigi, Kwara State.
Muhammad, attached to the Patigi Division of the Nigeria Police Force, was kidnapped on August 10, 2025.
His rescue was confirmed by security sources including an expert Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the development in a post on X.
According to Makama, the DSS recovered the officer in a forest where his abductors had abandoned him.
The Kwara State Police Command was reportedly notified of the operation at about 5pm on November 9.
He further stated that Muhammad has since been handed over to the police command by the DSS and is currently in stable condition.
“He is being debriefed as part of further investigation,” Makama quoted sources.
Meanwhile, the police did not disclose whether any ransom was paid or if arrests had been made in connection with the abduction.
However, the command assured that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.
The rescue brought relief to both the command and the officer’s family, who had endured over 90 days of uncertainty.
