APGA agents share money, gala, spaghetti to voters in Anambra governorship election
A trending video has captured the moment All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) officials shared money and food items to some voters participating in the Anambra governorship elections today, November 8, 2025.
The video showed APGA agents wearing APGA-branded caps and shirts handing out items to people believed to be voters.
Another APGA party official was also seen sharing food items such as drinks, gala, spaghetti and tin tomatoes to the voters, a move seen as a way of bribing them to vote for a particular candidate.
The party officials urged the beneficiary of the largesse to vote for Governor Soludo in what he described as “continuity.”
He said, “To vote for APGA for solution government to continue.”
The video has since generated debates on social media, with many social media users condemning the act, saying Nigerian electoral integrity is still questionable.
Others said there is nothing wrong with collecting what politicians offer voters, especially with the hardship in the country.

Meanwhile, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the Anambra election, George Moghalu, has decried the reports of vote-buying in some areas in the state.
Moghalu, who spoke with journalists on Saturday at his residence in Nnewi North LGA, Moghalu said despite the heavy deployment of security personnel for the election, he had received reports of widespread vote-buying.
The LP candidate said, “The situation is scandalous and very embarrassing. The issue of vote-buying is no more a speculation. It happened very aggressively in the last by-election. This time around, I’ve been receiving reports of the same thing happening.”
He expressed worry about the inability of the security operatives to arrest the perpetrators.
“With the quantity of security personnel that has been brought into Anambra state for the purposes of this election, I expect that vote-buyers by now should have been caught and stopped,” he said.
Moghalu described the situation as “most unfortunate”, warning that the crime undermines the integrity of the electoral process.
The worst form of corruption is electoral corruption. Because by electoral corruption, you put in office people who are not credible, people who are not qualified, people who should not hold responsible offices. At the end of the day, it is the people that suffer,” he added.
The issue of vote-buying in Nigeria has been on for decades, with the security operatives recording little success in tracking the perpetrators. INEC has also failed to stop the practice.
